More About Barend Ritter
Barend Ritter is the founding director of Cederwood Wealth.
He started his investment career at investment management firm Allan Gray in 1997 as an equity analyst and portfolio manager, and has been a CFA charterholder since 2000.
While employed at Sanlam Investment Management (SIM), he managed unit trust funds with equity and mixed-asset mandates, investing both locally and abroad. He built an impressive long-term track record managing several billion rands in funds at SIM.
As executive of Allan Gray’s retail business, Barend set up the company’s retirement product business. He also served as a trustee of the Allan Gray retirement annuity and pension/preservation funds.
He holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering, cum laude, from Stellenbosch University.
